Research Coordinator
Prescott College seeks a Field Research Coordinator (RC) for its field station in Kino Bay, Sonora, Mexico. The RC is responsible for working with the field station staff to coordinate the ongoing regional research agenda with government agencies, non-government organizations, American and Mexican universities, and community members. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Communicate between Prescott College and collaborating institutions.
- Work with station directors to develop long-term research priorities and agendas.
- Host visiting researchers and provide regional and field support for their activities.
- Provide field support and group facilitation for educational groups visiting the field station.
- Coordinate Prescott College student and staff participation in the center’s research agenda.
- Conduct some field research.
- Write reports on the center’s research activities and maintaining project databases.
The RC works closely with all station staff members and is under the direct supervision of the station directors.
Job Qualifications:
The RC should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental studies or related fields with at least two years regional and field research experience. The RC should also be conversationally fluent in Spanish and English and have strong writing skills in one or both languages. The FRC will be required to be certified as a Wilderness First Responder (WFR).). The RC should be comfortable working with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point. The RC will be required to live in the remote community of Kino Bay, Sonora, Mexico.
Benefits:
Starting annual salary $15,000-17,000 USD, plus medical insurance and vacation time. On-site housing including utilities is available.
