Involving K-12 Students in Monitoring of Riparian Habitat for Natural Resource Agencies
For 12 years the Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Program (BEMP) has involved K-12 students in gathering data that has been analyzed and published by the University of New Mexico for use by government agencies to manage the Rio Grande's riverside forest. This session covers the protocols used by 3,500 students each year and quality control issues.

Guidelines for Excellence in Environmental Education
This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the Guidelines for Excellence series. Through guided exercises, participants learn how to use these publications as tools for developing and implementing comprehensive, cohesive EE programs.
Profitable Environmental Management: Strategy to Maximize Resources and Reduce Costs (Full Day Workshop)
Profitable Environmental Management is a strategy of optimization of resources focused on environmental protection from the perspective of shared responsibility. Participants will work on this strategy as it applies to their own organizational needs.
Project Learning Tree – Spanish & English (Full Day Workshop)
This hands-on workshop will introduce educators to the use of the PreK-8 Project Learning Tree Activity Guide. The activities, both indoor and outdoor, are interdisciplinary and use inquiry-based techniques. Participants will receive both Spanish and English versions of the Guide.
Ensuring Sustainable Community Partnerships through Cultural Competency (Full Day Workshop)
Through discussion of a case study and other activities explore the concepts of community participation, partnerships, and environmental education. Start developing strategies for becoming more culturally competent and effective in working with communities and forming sustainable partnerships.
