Big Bend National Park has initiated an intensive environmental education outreach program, targeting school children within 100 miles of the 801,000-acre park. The park, exhibiting the best Chihuahuan Desert expanse in the United States, shares a 118-mile border with the Mexican states of Coahuila and Chihuahua. We are educating school children from the United States and Mexico on the importance of protecting this unique and fragile environment.
